Unilock Excellence in Design Award, 2017
KZLA was awarded the Unilock Excellence Design Award for their paver design and layout at Parcel 25.
The project created a new, welcoming gateway to Mission Hill. The landscape is pedestrian-oriented with significant streetscape improvements including trees, improved sidewalks, seating, vegetation, significant new crosswalks, and pedestrian pathways through the landscape connecting the Roxbury Crossing T stop.
Gingerscapes, Boston Society of Landscape Archiects
"Best in Show", 2015
Did you know KZLA is an award-winning gingerbread house maker? KZLA won "Best in Show" for their "Gingerscape" titled "Muddy River Living". The design was inspired by the Muddy River in Boston and reimagined life in the city. Gummy ducks, gingerbread bridges, and teddy graham camping tents were all part of the gingerscape.
The gingerscape was then included in the exhibition and fundraising auction hosted by the Community Design Resource Center of Boston.
