Roxbury Crossing
Senior Crossing
KZLA worked with the project architects of a new 4 story, 40-unit housing development for seniors to create a variety of engaging exteriors spaces at grade in the public realm and at the roof level as well. As designed, the project is LEED certifiable due to the large areas of green roof, the harvesting of HVAC condensate for irrigation, and the used of pervious pavement.
This transit-oriented development -- located across from Roxbury Crossing T station -- allows the residences to live car-free and with great freedom. Particular focus was paid on the public realm and the quality of the streetscape to ensure that it was an asset for the residents and the community incorporating street tree planting, lighting, and furnishings.
