Phillips Exeter Academy
Goel center for theater and dance
With the redevelopment of the South Campus at Phillips Exeter Academy, KZLA envisioned a new landscape that responded to the riparian landscape of the Little and Squamscott Rivers. Path alignments and pavement patterns were inspired by ice flows and broken ice. Sixteen tennis courts and a access road were removed and replaced with a pedestrian promenade, native meadow, groves of trees, and amphitheater and entry plaza. KZLA worked closed with architects, Tod Williams Billie Tsien so views out from the building has a related landscape gesture.
