Boston Parklets
Pilot Program
For the City of Boston, KZLA has designed, fabricated, and installed two parklets as part of the Parklet Pilot Program. These temporary park spaces interject energy and life to existing business districts fostering community gathering and social interaction. The design inspiration for each parklet was derived from the site context and the community where they were originally installed. Each parklet occupies just two on-street parallel spaces.
Components are removable, so they can be disassembled and stored for the winter and then re-assembled in spring. The parklets have been reinstalled every year since their construction in various neighborhoods throughout Boston including Jamaica Plain, Mission Hill, Roslindale, and Brookline.
